Burgundian estate Domaine des Lambrays has released its 2019 wines, with a substantial increase in the price of its flagship grand cru label, Clos des Lambrays.

The wine has been released at £4,320 per 12×75 SIB (£1,080 per 3×75). This represents an increase of 84% on the current market price of the 2018.

A fine lime tint to the colour. The 2019 Vide Bourse is more refreshing than one might expect from the sunny 2019 vintage in a vineyard next to Bâtard-Montrachet. Cousinhood with the adjacent grand cru can certainly be imagined from the powerful white fruit flesh, and the exceptional persistence. This is a very clear step up from the fine Champ Gains, in fact a pretty sensational bottle of wine from this discreetly brilliant producer. 13.5% alcohol. Drink from 2026-2035. Tasted: April 2023.
