M.Chapoutier und Hermitage;
Haha Rainer 19 out of 20; that is some scale of ratings to use for a wine from 2013; what happens then when the quality is like 2009-2010? Will he give it 22 out of 20 or perhaps even 23 out of 20...He has clearly come to the end of his road for wine ratings...now scoring the wines so his clients can buy them and feel good about it...serious integrity that man has...you're probably very right about the Movenpick deal as well...so yep this is not strange at all...Also BTW just talked to some top guys in Bordeaux, Carmes HB released less than 1,000 cases so that is how - even in a crap vintage - you create a false sense of urgency about having to buy and that means the new owner (who by the way is building something extraordinary in the way of a new winery; architecturally a new pearl) kept a large majority of the production of the wine, which makes sense as he will want to build up stock for the future...but there's your answer Francois about why it "sold out in 2 hours..."
Anyway, there was just a few more releases during the day, so here's the mop-up:
DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER 2013 PESSAC LEOGNAN ROUGE AC @ 27.50 € / btl
DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER BLANC 2013 PESSAC LEOGNAN BLANC @ 55.00 € / btl
CLOS DES LUNES - LUNE D'OR 2013 @ 29.00 € / btl
CH. PIERRE 1er (ex CH. CROIX FIGEAC) 2013 @ 10.35 € / btl
CH. FLEUR CARDINALE 2013 @ 21.60 € / btl
CH. MOULIN HAUT-LAROQUE 2013 @ 9.40 € / btl
CH. SAINT GEORGES COTE PAVIE 2013 @ 12.60 € / btl
and that's it for today folks!
