Finest and Rarest Wines

http://click.sothebys-email.com/?qs=4f3 ... 219f03d789

TODAY'S FINEST AND RAREST WINE SALE REACHED AN EXCEPTIONAL TOTAL OF US$4.4 MILLION

Sale Total: US$4,436,552 against estimates of US$2,788,800/US$4,007,900

Sold Percentage: 95% sold by lot

Percentage of Lots Sold Above High Estimate: 60%

Buyers:
- North America: 78%
- Asia: 11%
- Latin America: 11%

Online Bidders: 20% of the lots were bought online.

Duncan Sterling, Head of New York Wine Auctions at Sotheby's commented: "Today at Sotheby's Wine New York we saw spirited bidding from all over the world competing for some of the rarest wines ever sold at Sotheby's. Outstanding prices were achieved for magnums of 1961 Petrus and 1990 Chambertin from Domaine Armand Rousseau, and record prices were achieved for Sine Qua Non. Special offerings from Paul Jaboulet Aine and the Peter Michael Foundation brought extremely strong prices for verticals created especially for this sale. A full saleroom, multiple telephones and active online bidding led to a superb result, well over the high estimate for our lead consignment, Magnificent Wines from the
Cellar of Dr. Ed Planz and we were delighted to have Dr. Planz and his friends in the saleroom to watch his collection soar over the high estimate to US$2,017.024."

Sale Highlights:
- The Magnificent Cellar of Ed Planz sold for US$2,017,024 against a low estimate of US$1,259,300
- A unique consignment of 59 lots of Sine Qua Non from a West Coast collector sold for an incredible US$375,769 against a low estimate of US$84,450
- Large formats direct from Paul Jaboulet Aine sold for US$89,793 against a low estimate of US$35,750
- An 18 vintage vertical of Peter Michael Les Pavots 1994-2011 sold to benefit the Peter Michael Foundation sold for US$23,275 against a low estimate of US$12,000
